At least four persons died when a fire of still unknown origin gutted a three-story garments factory in Caloocan City before dawn Friday.
SFO1 Arwin David told dzBB radio the bodies were charred. He said they can determine one of the fatalities was a woman but added they could not immediately identify them.
The fire hit the building owned by the Go family and destroyed their van, car, and owner-type jeep.
Firefighters had a hard time battling the blaze as their water supply ran short.
Other residents at the second and third floors of the building at 7th Avenue were evacuated.
The fire started about 4 a.m. and reached the third alarm before it was placed under control past 6 a.m.
Firefighters said they ran out of water in their tankers, many of which had just come from fighting the fire at the Great Eastern Hotel in Quezon City.
