Around P1M worth of properties were razed down by a one-hour fire that gutted 16 houses in Sto. Niņo Village, Sulom 2, Greensville Subd, Brgy. Villamonte yesterday.
SFO4 Gonzalo Toledano of the Bacolod City Bureau of Fire said that they are still looking into the cause of the blaze that started about 3:35 p.m.
Fourteen houses were totally damaged while two were partially burned. The flames were controlled about 4:05 p.m., Toledano said.
He said there were no reported fatalities or injuries.
Toledano also ruled out arsonists, because the fire broke out in broad daylight and many people were in the vicinity.
He said seven fire trucks responded to the incident including five from the fire department, one from the Amity Volunteer Fire Brigade, and one from the Chamber Fire Brigade.
