LUCENA CITY -- Two persons died and five others were seriously injured after the cargo truck they were riding suddenly turned turtle while traveling along the Maharlika Highway in Atimonan town in Quezon province on Wednesday. Police identified the victim as Cesar Bocobo, of Cabanatuan City and owner of the Isuzu truck, and Dexcel Bulaong, 4, of Aliaga, Nueva Ecija. Investigators said the truck which was traveling toward Bicol, lost its brakes while descending the downhill portion of the road situated in Barangay Malinao Ilaya. The vehicle swerved to the left portion of the highway and turned turtle. Both victims died on the spot after they were pinned down by the avalanche of at least 100 sacks of onions loaded in the truck. Truck driver Rogelio Bocobo, June Gatmaitan, Maricel Bana, Owen Paguin and Myra Bulaong, mother of Dexcel, were brought to the hospitals. The bodies of the two victims lie in a funeral parlor in Atimonan.
