Fire broke out at a residence yesterday in Brgy. Zone 5, Talisay City, killing a 72-year-old woman and injuring another person, the Bureau of Fire and Protection said.
The fatality was identified by Talisay BFP investigators as Monina Birondo, 72, owner the house that was burned at about 1:10 a.m. yesterday.
Alfonso Tuberes, 70, suffered second degree burn on the right side of his face and a lacerated wound on his right hand and was attended to by a responding Amity medical team.
The fire was declared under control by responding firefighters in 40 minutes.
A certain Janeta Birondo, 60, who complained of chest pains, was also treated by the Amity volunteers. Talisay BFP investigators have yet to establish the cause of fire and the amount of damage it caused to properties.
