A TWO-hour fire ravaged the old Mabinay public market Wednesday night razing its almost a block-wide front side and leaving damage estimated at P20 million.
No one was hurt in the fire that started from one of the eateries nine o'clock in the evening and was contained two hours later by firemen from the municipality, Bais City, Tanjay City, and Kabankalan City.
Fire investigators said the fire was caused by faulty and old electric wirings.
Mabinay Vice Mayor Ernie Uy said 40 stall owners were dislocated but they would be temporarily assigned to vacant stalls at the unburned back side of the huge public market.
