A man was charged with arson when he allegedly attempted to burn the house of another man in Brgy. Bangcal, whom he believed had raped his younger sister days earlier in Jimalalud, Oriental Negros.

The suspect, Romulo Sarabia, 31, married, a farmer, was, however, foiled in his attempt when other neighbors noticed the flames and doused the fire with water.

Only the roof of the kitchen was burned and no one was injured since the target of Sarabia's anger was out at that time, investigation of the Bureau of Fire Protection disclosed.
