TWO fires were reported in the metropolis on Wednesday night. Firemen reported the first incident at about 7 p.m. when an unattended cell phone charger caused a fire in a two-story house on Dela Cruz Street, Mandaluyong City. "We are advising residents to always watch out for plugged appliances, like electric fans or flat irons, which can trigger fires," F02 Marcos Cabiso told the Inquirer. More than four hours later, a leaking liquified petroleum gas tank caused a fire at the Chowking fastfood restaurant on Apelo St., Pasay City. F03 Renato Recto said only the outlet's ceiling was damaged in the fire which destroyed about P100,000 worth of property. The blaze started at 11:20 p.m. and was put out after 30 minutes. No casualties were reported in the incident although several kitchen workers suffered minor burns. "The restaurant was already closed at that time. They were only cleaning the place," Recto added.
