A man was hurt while trying to help put out a fire that gutted a restaurant and three residential establishments in Taguig City, before dawn yesterday.

The Taguig Fire Bureau identified the injured man as Arnel Francisco, 32, who sustained a laceration in the wrist.

FO3 Teodoro Legaspi, fire investigator, noted that Arnel was one of the bystanders who tried helping put out the fire in Lower Bicutan.

On the other hand, he assured that no other persons were hurt or killed during the blaze.

In his report, SFO1 Douglas Magno, fire investigator, said that an estimated R1.5 million in properties were destroyed in the fire that began at the Fish Pond Restaurant located 303 M.L. Quezon St., Lower Bicutan.

Magno said that they are still trying to determine what caused the fire in the restaurant owned by a certain Lira Guilatco.

Witnesses said that the flames originated at the center of the restaurant and then spread out to the entire establishment.

Magno said the fire started at 3:45 a.m. from the restaurant then spreading towards three homes owned by Nancy Bagobo, Cenon Siso, and Carlito Cortisano.

Reaching the fourth alarm, the fire lasted for more than an hour.
