A 25-MINUTE fire gutted an office inside the United States Embassy in Manila amid a heavy downpour on Saturday afternoon.
Fire investigators said the blaze hit an office near the Marine Gate around 1:25 p.m.
Owing to the tight security, firetrucks were initially barred from entering the premises of the embassy. After securing clearance, they were finally allowed inside to extinguish the blaze.
The fire was put out around 1:50 p.m.
The embassy said it would conduct its own investigation on the incident.
