LUCENA CITY—A flying school student died and another was injured when the two seater plane they were piloting crashed on the island town of Perez in Lamon Bay past noon yesterday, police said.
Senior Supt. Vicente Caragan Jr., Quezon police chief, identified the fatality as Michael Lim. His name was in an ID that was found in his wallet.
The injured student was identified as Fidel Gabriel Jr., 23, a resident of Caloocan City.
The two were students of the PATTS school of aeronautics in Pasay City.
Caragan Jr. said he would call the phone number found in the wallet of Lim to get in touch with his family and inform them of the tragic accident.
The police official said the wreckage of the plane was found some 100 meters away from the shore.
He said Gabriel Jr. was rushed to the Alabat General Hospital.
