Four people, including a 13-year-old, were hurt while 20 houses were destroyed by a fire in North Fairview, Quezon City, yesterday morning.
Reports reaching the Quezon City Fire Department (QCFD) identified those hurt as Jocel Palar, 13; Floro Velaos, 43; Rain Napata, 33; and Diana Marie Haboneta, 18.
The victims, who suffered third degree burns in different parts of their bodies, were taken to the East Avenue Medical Center for treatment.
Firefighters said the blaze started around 9 a.m. from the house of a certain Willy Palar on Abad Santos Street in Barangay Sta. Lucia, North Fairview.
Investigators said a gasoline leak from an LPG tank caused the fire, which was declared under control by 10:30 a.m.
On Saturday, some 900 families were rendered homeless after a large fire destroyed squatter’s areas in Barangay Piñahan and NIA road, also in Quezon City.
