RESCUERS are still looking for Mark Anthony Bernardino, 11, after he was believed to have drowned in a Mandaluyong creek after heavy rains flooded the city Sunday. The body of his friend, John Ray Manatad, 10, was found earlier near the Arroceros Pumping Station in Manila. Survivor Adrian Taghoy, 9, said Manatad and Bernardino asked him to join them on a piece of styrofoam floating on the Maytunas creek near Acacia Lane at the height of the downpour. The boys were supposed to haul plastic materials thrown in the creek that they could sell later, but Taghoy refused. When he saw that the waters rising fast, he tried to reach out for his friends, but they had gone under. A man heard Taghoy cry for help and got him out of the creek.
